I prefer the American version of "Mechs" which are more like heavy tank-robots.
I've only done a couple of matches so far but I've already seen people get their legs blown off and simply do the rest of the match with no legs flying around with seemingly no hindrance. This seems a bit counterintuitive to a Mech game.
Yeah that's totally the one!
Losing your legs sheds off a significant amount of weight, making the boosters more effective. Weither that actually happens in-game or not i can't say for sure but it would make sense.
In a world where they have huge battlemechs it doesn't seem that far fetched that they would have technology to make a powerfull booster in small-ish form factor.
It would need a symbol or something though as I think some (most?) would avoid it.
