Always looking for interesting class based games. How does it work in this game? Feel free to compare it to other games.

Like Final Fantasy 1 NES, except sometimes you'll get to choose from more than one class for a character, depending on the previous class, and where you are, on the character, etc. If you read the "special" manual (I think you can without buying the game??) it will give an example. It's more of like a static upgrade system than something you can swap between. It is more character-based like Final Fantasy IV than class based. The class system is just a little bit of extra customization. If you played like the Langrisser games, that was the inspiration =) Thank you for your interest. If you like really in depth class systems, this won't be the game for you though =(. It is more like Breath of Fire, the class change is just a little extra gimmick on top. Hope that helps!

I see, so we have set characters, and within they evolve into certain classes. Does every character have access to the same classes and the player decides at certain milestones how they evolve? Or does "Joe strong guy" Have more fighter classes/trees and "Sally Spellcaster" Has more mage/healer trees?

It depends on the character but mostly they have their own character specific classes to choose between, and they don't share the same classes... sometimes they do, but then the next upgrade will be unique to them. So maybe Guy A and Guy B can both become fighters, but only Guy B can then become a Paladin later on, while Guy A can then choose to be a thief or a mage. It's better to think of them as more individual characters... but for some of them you can have more influence if you think he should be a bit more magic focused... or he should be a bit more of a tank or a healer. But the characters will still follow who they are in the story. Hope that helps, and sorry if it's not what you were looking for
Sounds to me like it's similar to what Trials of Mana does. Pre-set characters who each have thier own job 'tree' and the player gets to decide which branches to follow.
I think it would be nice if we can have next class previews for characters below the requirement. Currently, I have Ghaz at level 10 and deciding between Baron or Disciple but I have trouble making up my mind without knowing what's coming for other characters to make sure I have a well rounded party. So I made a separate save file where I'm grinding Lache, Elione and Myria up to level 10 as well and see what classes they have so I can plan the party all at once.

that's not a bad idea. also you don't really need to grind since you'll get sent back that way later, if someone is only level 8 or whatever =)
