What makes townies so dumb?
So for some reason whenever I join a game the townies always believe people who accuse others with no proof and then the entire town will vote the accused and all vote guilty for no reason besides random accusations.(the last game I played some guy who I was getting along with really well and wasn't suspicious when I checked him since I was sheriff randomly accused me as arso and then in an instant I was voted for lynching and everyone voted me as guilty too) this has happened multiple times to me too and others with literally no proof so I'v always either abstained or voted inno, but stupidity always seems to overpower the smart and ungullible

I never throw the game. I say I am town (which is true) and I point out why the random lynch is stupid.

If the town doesn't want to admit their stupidity and/or believe me then that's on them, not me.

The fact that most towns hang me only serves to prove that they have no interest in playing a legitmate evidence based game.
and you've never mistakenly hung a townie before..... riiiiiight.

so basically, you want to play an evidence-based game, but you wish to provide no evidence about yourself, as said by yourself twice in this thread:

If I am put up for random lynch I refuse to give my role and simply say I am town.

and also the post i am directly quoting.

and when people hang you, as you look like a newbie baddie who doesent even know how to craft an alibi, you then destroy any hope you might have had for your play to help the town win.

guy, you're throwing the game.

There is a difference between evidence and a claim. Claiming a role while being lynched sure as hell isn't evidence.

You're obviously just arguing for the sake of arguing now though and I'm bored of that.

If anyone has tried what I suggested I'd be curious to hear what they thought. :p

you misunderstand. claiming a role is one thing, showing proof that you are a role is another. especially by way of some claim that another town can verify.

i'm going to try your "i am town" malarky next time i am jester, though. i cant think of a more surefire way to hang than to defend myself like that.

i'm not even arguing. i'm pointing out that you're throwing the game, and now are encouraging others to do the same.

This is how I win as Exe every game. Just say my target is evil and to trust me, vote for them, then everyone goes for it and i win.

Or maybe they are expecting you to give legitimative evidence to proof that whoever voted you is actually wrong/exe? Anyone can claim being town, but that doesn't make it true. While you can argue that you were put up by random (or framed by mafia via death note) you should still defend yourself.

If someone puts me up to lynch me, I don't give their my atributes if they ask them (because it is cheating), but I still at least try to prove myself as townie if I am one (Or even if I am maf).

Yeah, and the exact same thing can be said for claiming a town role. THAT IS MY POINT.

Towards the end of a game when evil roles are getting even with town and town needs to get a kill to maintain a vote majority then random lynching can be useful but that's not when most random lynches happen. They start on day 2 or 3 which is absurd.

also, by day three, you've got evidence that can be confirmed that someone might be bad.

You know that the stupidity of the town means that exe is easier, but an exe gets found and ALL investigative town roles get hung for the suspicion of being an exe. Also they hang exe when they have lynched their target. You are kind of killing a survivor there. and i hate when they hang you when you claim survivor or vamp hunter or doc. It is REALLY annoying

No one ever listens to anything. They just random lynch or randomly accuse and people believe it. I had a vig shoot me once when I was revealed mayor. Once a jailor executed me because I typed something and the game lagged so I accidentally sent it at night so he insisted I was maf, but I was actually escort. Just the other day, I was proven retri and jailor jailed me, and said that I was good, and last second decided to execute me. Sometimes it's painful to play the game. Also don't even get started on whispering. If you whisper anything you're automaticcaly bad. If you talk too much you're bad, if you talk too little you're bad. I understand it's a game of not trusting, but these people will just make up any excuse to hang you.

Now Mr.Mr., to answer your inital question, Townie's brains were once deep fried, ran over by cars, shanked by a Serial Killer, and covered in sprinkles before they were placed in the Townie's head. Once they place the brain in the Townie's head, they use a special ingredient to coat the deep fried, ran overed, shanked, sprinkled brain. Nobody knows what the special ingredient is... maybe it's just Townie's Brain Puree. I don't know. Ask blankmediagames for more information on how the body of a Townie.

well, townies sometimes win because of luck. I was mafioso once and the gf ordered me to kill someone. i got transed with that person and i died. lucky town.

the only other way town can win is by getting lucky with the invest roles being
a) clever
b) investing the correct people

Well, I can't say that townies are stupid in the Elo-range I play and I'm not even on the top tier level of players. I would imagine that the town win rate in higher Elo ranked games must be higher than in your average normal game. Normal games are a very different story. The townies draw their strength from a willingness to cooperate. They basically have to work together and know their place and the place of certain roles within the framework of the game. This whole system breaks apart when there is a new and inexperienced player. Moreover, players who are new to the game often only know some funny YT highlight vid which often feature some fun killing role and all of a sudden they play the medium who doesn't do much but can still contribute in key moments (and can't vote like an idiot, too).
