So generally you can get even +3 as exe if you won against total noobs (despite neutrals giving huge bonus always).
There is no penalty for leaving as you die, as i recall, it can even be used to boost ranked diviosion on last points needed, cause if you leave your elo is not renewed untill you reenter game, so leaving dead at lost games will reduce elo only after you reenter, but you can achieve new diviosion.
If you leave without dying you lose nearly 30 elo.
If you have the same people who are lower ranks than yourself in your matches, then you will gain less.
You shouldn't leave until after your death has been announced and you pop up in the graveyard (also maybe think about your potential medium). Otherwise, yes, you do lose elo.
Yeah that was confusing me, I never leave until my death is fully announced, usually the night after to make sure there's no med. But something is still removing points O.o
