I got banned, how to appeal to it?

So I've been playing the game for years, started on web, and eventually bought it on Steam when it became available here.

I tried to open the game today to play for awhile, and I came to face that I got banned for Hate Speech / Harassment.
While I may have an idea on why this may be, I would still like to know, if this is a permanent ban or temporary, because if it's permanent I don't believe it's justifiable.
I'm writting here because I read that the only way to appeal a ban is trough the Steam Forums.

Is there a timer of some sort or does it say when the ban ends?
If yes, it's not permanent, if no, it's probably permanent.
You can try the official forums, but if it's a permanent ban caused by evading the chat filter with n-word, homophobic or other such instances, they won't give you an appeal.

An appeal is only if the ban was a mistake.

It just really says the reason of the ban, with no timer.

I did not try to evade any chat filter. And the only thing that comes to mind that is relatable to the cause of this ban, was this one time, this guy/girl on the game was in name selection, and picked up a name saying "I Hate Men", and typing stuff such as kill all men, or I hate men. So I just thought it would be funny to have my name "I hate Women" (wich by the way I know it's not funny), I did not type any stuff like that person did, aside from the name I chose.

While I do agree that this can be seen as something like "Hate speech" I feel like getting a permanent ban for it is way to much. I've been playing this on this account since 2015, it just feels like a stab in the back for a ban for something so small as this.

Again I don't really agree with what I did but it feels too much.

Post an appeal, a bot should link all your guiltied reports there, so you'll know what they banned you for at least.
