yer, i also had a game where the end of one word and the start of the other could be seen as a rude word. no idea what the words were but i just changed the words around and it was fine

the only times people get the yellow "you cant type that" is if the filter find what they say, be it the real word or if there trying to dodge the filter. 9 times out of 10 it works as its suppose to. the other 1/10 is when, as i said already, it thinks that your trying to get around the filter

also as i said, if it happens just change your wording

im kind of with you. some words i dont give a toss about being said to me, let along by some random salty/toxic person online, but there other words that im 100% not cool being said, be it to me or someone else. then you got other people that like/dislike other words, be it by there sex, race, sexuality, etc

all in all just be descent people online and dont try and get around the filler

Oh of course, I'm not against the concept of a filter or rules, it just seems like these days everyone's ready to go for the throat over a few words that shouldn't be as harmful as they make them out to be.

I'm not saying allow things like slurs, those should be blocked and rightfully are, but I think the context of what IS allowed should be expanded a bit. Maybe the filter could scan words before and after the offending word and then censor or not? For example in this case, the C word being a racist slur, maybe by looking at the previous words or words after it can decide to censor it or leave it be. Leave Plo Koon but censor the 2nd part of the name if it can be put together in an offensive manner. Like "a" K "an" K "dumb" K etc. (K being the acronym for the 2nd part of the name.)

im with you, but i can also see that the fitter can fail at times. it prob picks up a word or a word close to what it had been programmed to flag. the bot cant really "read" the context of why said word was said so it just reports it

reminds me of the wow forums. even if you try do a joke or be sarcastic the filter bots (caz thats all thats on there forums, no real people) will mark, flag, report and mute people for weeks, sometimes a month or so with no way to defend yourself (caz the appeal side is also 100% bots). hell, i got a month suspension there ones for calling a hole in a main city that people can easily fall into and die a "fer". think i replayed to someone talking about said hole with something like "oh god. that fer has killed me and many others way to much. it needs to be filled in or a guide rail installed"

but nope, filter bots only see me responding to someone with "fer" and thinks im calling them that.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ such is life

Just another example that town of salem censor is a bit out of hand is that they change "transexual" to "nonbinary" but you can say "heterosexual" all you want. Like number 1 that's not even what that is, transexual is someone who identifies as the opposite gender so saying that they are another gender entirely (which is what "nonbinary" is) is pretty belittling. and number 2 it's not a bad word so why treat it like one? and you can't make the argument that it is inappropriate for a young audience when you allow "heterosexual" and in case anyone is wondering I only found out it was censored because I was going to jokingly call the transporter a transexual since that role is often shorted to "trans" in this game.
