Checking reports on town of salem?

I know if you play off the web browser there is an option to send a bot your user on the forums and it will tell you why you were reported/suspended/banned.

however I have been suspended 3 times and I am not sure why.

I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was any way to see the reports against your account if it is on STEAM and not on the web browser.

yes but how do I do that? because you see when I log in I just hit login with steam so I have no idea how I am even supposed to log into the forums. If you could help me I would greatly appreicate it

As for the account info. You use your ToS username and the password you created when you created the account.

If you forgot the password, you can resend it.

When I log into town of Salem off steam I click the little button that says login with steam though so I’m not sure what my user and password would be. I know the user would obviously be the same as my steam @taylormangos11 but when I type in my steam password it says no account found or some weird stuff like that,

The username is the name you use in Town of Salem (not specifically always the same as your Steam username, just look at the name you have ingame).

The password can be resent via blankmediagames.com

So update, I used one of my alt accounts (which of course happens to have a very offensive user) and I mentioned it on the forum but because I also emailed them the girl seemed to know it was me and told me my suspensions had been 2 inappropriate user names and 1 gamethrow.

But here’s the thing, I 100% understand the game throw , but the inappropriate user name?

So for a long period of time I would use the name ‘faguette’ and it was a joke between some of my friends and I , I honestly had no idea people were seeing this as inappropriate because of all the other names I see going around in which are much much worse.


I would like to now go for suspension appeal, of course knowing the name is inappropriate I will abstain from using it in the future but I was wondering if you had any advice on going to a suspension appeal? Like anything I should say / avoid saying?

Well, valid suspension can't be appealed. Only after you receive a permanent ban (on the 4th offense) can you appeal an earlier suspension, and only if the report you're appealing is older than 6 months (or a year for Hatespeech/harassment).

Using the name "faguette" is seen as filter evasion for a blacklisted word (the obvious f word), and evading said filter is absolutely prohibited, in this case, you were actually lucky to only have been suspended, since they do from time to time instantly permanently ban for evading filters to use racial or homophobic slurs.

Other people with inappropriate names (especially those that circumvent the filter that was put in place), if reported, get the same punishment you did, so in this case, it's only fair. Even if you've seen worse, it doesn't mean they get away with it. It's like if you'd see one person gamethrow and then you gamethrow as well because "the other person did it too".

As long as you just take to heart the rules that are in place and don't use the name again, I don't think you'd get to the 4th (permaban) tier, so all should be good.

The only way to try to appeal the suspension is if the oldest guilty report is older than 6 months, but even then it's not a guarantee.
