i know this because whenever i'm host i like to mash the start button before 7 people have joined and it gives a message saying you need 7 people
Bear in mind, when you play with other people, you're still subject to rules and regulations of the game. If someone gets put on a stand and doesn't defend themselves either becuase they don't speak english or they write something in another language, it's considered gamethrowing and you can be reported for that. The same applies to role sharing, sharing info, and purposefully playing to help your party friends instead of your faction in game. Just because you're in a party doesn't mean that's allowed.
My initial plan was to play only between us, so "other people" wouldn't be a case.
Seems like it's a bit more complicated than I thought. But I saw a video where 15 players play together in a group, so I guess it's possible.
Well you said you have enough friends for a full game. Why don't you try it? Invite them all into a party and create a lobby in a custom game or join a lobby. No one here seems to have a definitive answer, and you can pretty much check what's possible yourself.
Oh... Ok. If you had this idea a month ago, they could have tried it for free, but ToS became buy to play since then.
