Taunts & the Dead
Having seen this several times already since i started playing ToS again, i must say i feel like the Taunts from the Dead shouldn't be visible to the Living. It's the job of Medium/Retri to get Information from the Dead, not that of Taunts. It's annoyed me since the first time i saw it, and having now seen several Players proclaiming it a viable "Strategy" in my Coven Ranked Practice games spoils the fun when your Medusa gets killed d2 for information they shouldnt have by normal game mechanics.

Whats your ppls 2 cent on this?

Anyone can taunt, meaning no taunt is ever completely viable.

To be fair, I wouldn't care if taunts disappeared alltogether, though.

I honestly don't care. I forget i have them half the time, and the other half taunts barely do what i want them to do like rely information as to who i was visiting or who the evil is or whatever.

Because as Flavorable said... Anyone can taunt. And once one person starts taunting, everyone starts taunting and at that point it's just some fun animation, not a game mechanic and it was never meant to be a game mechanic in the first place.

I rarely see taunts anyway, i have mine from the cauldron, and i assume other people get theirs from the random cauldron too. I doubt anyone buys them.

Taunts are actually some of the best selling cosmetic items. At least 2 taunts are always in the top 10 purchases every month since they released. :)

As Vepar and Flavorable said though. They can only really strategically be used, if no one has them. So many free ones get given out from cauldron, and so many get purchased, that it seems unlikely that it should be able to be abused too much.

Well nice to see they're making you money. :steamhappy:

But yeah. They're just for fun. Not a game mechanic. At least not in any reliable sense.

i only had 1 game myself lost rhough taunts, but i count at least 3 wher ei was town seeing the enemy loose through them. i just really think you should limit to who sees them when the dead taunt. while it's not a guarantee, it is a way to circumvent your game mechanics if the situation is right and i think you should cut that before it gets out of hands. I can see you being reluctant, yet if it threatens your game balance it might kill your games atractivity on the long run more than a little cut would hurt the sales.

as for the strategic use? i agree it's circumstantial, yet with coven where so little play certain game modes to start with, it could become a hazard really fast. at least that's my opinion ^^

I agree, should make it so that you cannot use them once you are dead.

And how would the alive players know that the person being marked is evil? or town? or how would they know if the dead did the taunt, and not some fake alive player?
Taunting cannot convey reliable info, so they are fine. Although, i wouldn't care if they were removed.

I honestly dont get you people, how could ANYONE die because of taunts? They are incapable of conveying info to the others

Yeah I love buying taunts. Do us taunt buyers a favor though, and add the fireworks to some deals. Also give the fireworks a sound effect, it's pretty lame without a noise.

Lots of people such as myself doen't spend money on in-game currency. (I did buy the steam version and coven, but only for the other benefits like faster load times and ad free.) Therefore they can't afford taunts, and barely anyone can fake a taunt message.

Then again, you can get taunts through the Cauldron fairly easily. I think I have about 30 a piece just through Cauldron use. And generally, when someone taunts someone else, I just taunt along.
