To be fair, I wouldn't care if taunts disappeared alltogether, though.
Because as Flavorable said... Anyone can taunt. And once one person starts taunting, everyone starts taunting and at that point it's just some fun animation, not a game mechanic and it was never meant to be a game mechanic in the first place.
I rarely see taunts anyway, i have mine from the cauldron, and i assume other people get theirs from the random cauldron too. I doubt anyone buys them.
As Vepar and Flavorable said though. They can only really strategically be used, if no one has them. So many free ones get given out from cauldron, and so many get purchased, that it seems unlikely that it should be able to be abused too much.
But yeah. They're just for fun. Not a game mechanic. At least not in any reliable sense.
as for the strategic use? i agree it's circumstantial, yet with coven where so little play certain game modes to start with, it could become a hazard really fast. at least that's my opinion ^^
Taunting cannot convey reliable info, so they are fine. Although, i wouldn't care if they were removed.
Then again, you can get taunts through the Cauldron fairly easily. I think I have about 30 a piece just through Cauldron use. And generally, when someone taunts someone else, I just taunt along.
