Report a translation problem
Also because of all of the reports, it'll take a few days before they will be banned, so have that in mind!
Thanks for the response/info! That makes a lot of sense honestly.
It takes days, because they get reports every single day, a LOT of them. if 10 people report a player in a match, it doesn't create 1 report with 10 complains in it. It creates 10 seperate reports to sort through, especially if the people aren't reporting on the same thing.
Whats more, it takes time to sort through the report and see clearly if the player is actually breaking the rules, as without a lot of information to go off of, they have to go through the entire match till they notice of offence that got reported.
For example, if you say someone said the N word on day 12, then it helps them know where to look. But if you don't say any time, just that someone said the N word, then they have to carefully go through each day to try and find where exactly he said it so they can take action.
That is, if he even DID it at all. That's the other thing, there are also a LOT of false reports too.
To the point they created a trial helping system for players, that players can of their own free will, help the devs sift through all the junk and find the players actually needing to be taken action against.
We get to sit through reports and see if they are fake or not, and if a report gets told it isn't fake by multiple people then the Devs themselves will get to see the report, go through it themselves, and hand out the punishment needed.
Either way, all of it takes time. It can take days, even weeks. Especially since each match is a short 15 mins or so depending on how fast or slow it goes.
The devs love the game, and want to help, it's just that there are too many reports, and most of them are false reports. They can't help everyone quickly in that situation.
Blue is a Judge, trust me when I say they know the workings of the Trial. ;)
Also, since there are some obvious big bugs with the reporting system that aren't being fixed, Blue actually has a point.
They're legit reports so it would look REALLY bad on their end if they dare tried. It's more about sending a message that they need to get off their duffs and do something that has an impact on the quality of life for their customers/players.
I'd like a big shoutout to our Judges, since they (along with all the jurors and the Mods/Admins) are the ones that do a -LOT- of work behind the scenes and we, as a community, have them to thank for actively trying to make this a better community.
So for that, my deepest gratitude.
annndddd I'm back. Here's where you've got the wrong impression. "trying to spam" implies malice and is not the proper context due to me using "spam" as just a lazy catch-all word used to describe the amount of reports I could potentially send daily due to playtime+exposure etc. That's the crux of it.
I literally ignore 50-60% of all the potential reports because I perfectly understand what kind of strain that puts on the system. What I'm saying is maybe it's time I start reporting EVERY LITTLE THING I CAN because that's how bad it is right now. You guys might see those legit reports coming from 1 person as spam so that's the word I used to describe it... but in reality it would be sending a message that if ONE guy can generate such an enormous amount of reports on their own then you've got a MUCH bigger problem as a whole.
As a genuinely chaotic neutral individual I don't go about things in the cleanest way when trying to make points. Hell sometimes I'll even cut corners or look the other way if it suits my needs. IF I were to ever report every single legit infraction I come across tho... it would be a tidal wave. My post was fantasizing about doing it without actually doing it. Sometimes it's better to put it down in words so you can feel better and let it go for now. That's exactly what I did and had a delicious lunch instead.
I prefer red meat, but yes and that was quite the analogy. I approve! Like the incredible hulk my secret is that I'm always angry and this game tends to bring it out of me.
Also the very match I played after I wrote that post there was 1 gamethrower and 5 people I had to double report for harassment because they were a premade of trolls. There's a reason I need a lot of snickers bars... and that reason is the worst community I've encountered in over a decade thanks to Town of Salem.
If it doesn't work... you won't mind me saying then that you can report while in game for say "gamethrowing" then also report the "account" for the same person from the end lobby for "gamethrowing" which gets around the block they have set up in-game.
That's what I call a "double report."
edit: These issues are magnified on the weekends and quite frankly due to being ill for so long I've been playing too mych ToS during BAD TIMES such as the weekend when the worst of the worst is out there to agitate me. I just need to go chill in some rocket league or other fluff and stick to my routine of playing in the mornings as a mental exercise to help wake me up. ToS requires just enough thought that it's a blend of reading the sunday comics and doing a crossword puzzle at once.
Well crap. At least it puts more eyeballs on it... but reading how it goes to seperate parties makes me think of the old term where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
