Statistiche:
What is the point of the Disguiser?
I really do not understand this role. The in-game explanation doesn't really help me. :/

You may disguise as a living target, which makes you appear as that person's role should you die that night or the following day.

It's a horrible role where 99% of the time you're only useful dead. ^

You will not receive a message confirming your disguise has succeeded.
You will not receive a message stating which role you have disguised as.
You can disguise as Unique Roles and roles with Defense.

Say you get lucky, picked the jailor but died the same night so town thinks jailor is dead. Even then you still didn't have time to write a jailor's will so they will know right away your're disguiser. The only bonus is that Maf knew who you visited so they now know who is Jailor but it is far from an even trade-off.

If the Disguiser dies while appearing as a Town role, a Retributionist will see an option to revive the Disguiser. If the Retributionist attempts to revive the Disguiser, the Disguiser will not be brought back to life. The Disguiser will receive no notification about someone attempting to revive him. The Retributionist will receive no notification about the revival failing but the Retributionist should be able to notice that the target wasn't revived. The Retributionist will not lose his resurrection.

If a Vigilante shoots the Disguiser while the Disguiser appears as a Town role, the Vigilante will not die of guilt. The Vigilante will be able to shoot immediately the following night which makes it obvious the person he shot was a Disguiser.

If a Disguiser visits a Veteran who is on alert, the Disguiser will die, appearing as a "Veteran", but it will be obvious there is a Disguiser, since it would otherwise be impossible for a Veteran to die from themselves.

So many restrictions and bad design even the Medium looks like a good role compared to Disguiser in my opinion.

Ever heard of "Consig+Disg" combo?

Try getting consig+disquiser without a custom match or scrolls. Since I slum it with the unwashed masses in ranked practice it's a rare combo which also requires both parties to actually know what they're doing + coordinate which is equally as rare.

Disguiser appears as the role of who they choose to anybody who can see roles. Say for example, you happen to use your ability on a Bodyguard, anybody investigating you will see you as a bodyguard. Investigator will get [BG/GF/Arso/Crus], Sheriff will get Not Suspicious, and so on.

Now, as for what it's used for. Trust and deception are versatile tools for screwing with the town. So, here's a list of specific things they can do.

-Having a perfect claim. Nobody can disprove it if you claim Sheriff or something similar, as you have the invest results. This takes up claimspace, causing suspicion to fall on other, legit claims by the town, getting good roles lynched.

-By disguising as an important role, you can get Town Protectives to busy themselves guarding you rather than other, actually important roles.

-If you fake an investigative role, you can take suspicion off your teammates by faking results, like claiming they're Spy/BM/Jailor when accused of being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, or saying they didn't visit the guy who died.

-If you have a framer, you can get them to continuously frame the guy you want fo fake the role of, causing THEM to be suspected of being Disguiser due to being seen as mafia. This improves your reliability even more.

-If you have a Janitor/Forger, you get a will to go with your role, giving legitimate results rather than having to make some up. Getting the Jailor's will and a proper disguise is basically game over.

-If you have a Consigliere, faking Investigator is now infinitely easier, just ask them what they got.

Basically, Disguiser is all about keeping a reliable cover, and using it to influence the game in your favor by drawing suspicion, causing paranoia, and lynching innocent roles. It's arguably the most difficult Mafia role, but effective in the right hands.
Sherif sees disg as mafia in all cases
The disguiser role could be removed from the game tomorrow and almost no one would notice the effect on gameplay.
How about they merge Consig and Disg?

EDIT: I say this because I keep reading that, in order to Disguiser being useful, it needs a combo with another member of the mafia.

scrolls don't even do anything, they give you basically greater priority getting the existing role within the match, not increases chance the role is in the match.

Disguiser is a useless role, it always was. It always was good solely if two specific roles exist, whether it's consig today or janitor before. The only difference is now the role is boring, uninteresting.

Basically, you wait for somebody to claim a TI, disguise as them, and you’ll either be lynched and your will will frame some townies, or people will believe you and lynch them
tbf disg before was even worse, you assume their role, and if you swap identities with someone who have their name in their will? Instalynch
