Follow these steps:
Game Library > Right click Town of Salem > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files
Make sure you don't have Town of Salem (or any other games) running. Wait for it to finish, and let it download some content if it needs to.
Have you tried downloading the game to a different folder than the one you're currently using, in case it's an access issue?
The browser version does work fine for me
Also, what resolution are you playing in?
In that case, I sincerely doubt it's a resolution issue, since I play with the same resolution and I've never encountered this problem.
Let's see if we can figure it out..
Try:
- Compatibility Mode (set it to Win7)
- Update graphics card driver
- If you're playing dual screen, try disabling one of them
- Try to delete a single map in the Town of Salem folder (under steamapps) and then verifying the cache again (kinda like forcing it)
- Try installing a separate ShockWave Flash driver (via Adobe)
- Make sure your Windows Updates are up to date, since those can sometimes cause weird af glitches/bugs.
- Reinstall Microsoft Silverlight and VC_Redist
- Try, before opening the game, to disconnect your keyboard, if not successful, try it again only this time with your mouse, then with any other USB connected device (one by one)
There, that gives you something to do. xD
Those are in order of likeihood of the problem being solved, so i'd stick to going top to bottom.
