I'm leaning towards hard no on that given Alias's incredibly individual unique flare when it comes to making music but I wouldn't doubt it being serviceable at least. According to Mortis one of the new composers's is "Morusque"? Also known as "Yann van der Cruyssen." Who from what I can tell has redone OSTs for other indies such as the Wiiware version of Cave Story, Knytt, and Stray.
Luckily we still have the original game out there for that!
That‘s the only way I‘m going to play this.
From the stream Mortis had it seemed like he made it pretty clear that the OG Soundtrack by Alias will forever be in the free original game as the only official way to play it with that soundtrack. The upcoming rerelease will have no option to swap between the music since the rights weren't secured. It's like that one situation with Persona PSX vs PSP with their OSTs but I'm at least betting that the new composers will be doing a better job of soundtrack replacing unlike Meguro who gutted out like 3/4ths of the game's original OST with mostly 1-2 minute low effort fl studio loops.
So really either people are gonna have to mod this upcoming release to have the old OST or mod the new content into an older rpgm03 release. Both are incredibly unlikely in fact I shouldn't even recommend the latter as an option.
I like how everyone here at least so far has gone down of expecting this to happen even though this is basically expecting too much from the OFF community in the first place. Give it a few months to several decades I say since that's- actually that's still not enough leeway honestly lol. The fanbase is a group of jenkemhuffers, not people who know what the ♥♥♥♥ they're doing.
i havent played off so idk ♥♥♥♥ about the fanbase but my prediction is that this rerelease is running on unity in which case swapping the music will be piss easy bc there are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of existing modding tools out there and it would probably take like 1 hour of work max
"I haven't seen or talked to Mortis for the past couple of years, something like that. Now, don't worry, that doesn't mean mommy and daddy are mad at each other. I'm going to explain something that probably won't make me look very good, but it may also help you understand my motivation and why I interact with people the way I do. Short version: I have a hard time bounding with people.
I tend to stick with people for only one reason (that reason varies from person to person). But the moment I lose this connection, I also lose interest. I tend to treat all my relationships the same way you probably treat relationships with strangers; Let's say you really like that stand up comedian because he or she makes you laugh, the day they stop being funny to you, you also lose interest in them. That's how it goes for me, with everybody."
