Your specifications are more than enough for the game, I run the same CPU in my Core i5 Workstation and it works fine.
Also, can you try updating the nVidia Drivers?
You could also try a disk clean with Wise Disk Cleaner (or CCleaner, but I perfer the former) and then a Registry Clean with Wise Registry Cleaner (wisecleaner.com , go to downloads, and choose "for direct download" as the Download page will take you to CNet Download (poop) com and their site sucks). Reboot after each cleaner pass (Disk Clean, reboot, Registry Clean, reboot).
Failing that, something under the bonnet may be messing up. If your Windows isn't too fresh (as in, it's a few years old) consider a reinstall of Windows. I'm running 7 SP1 Ultimate here and it's working fine on x64.
you mean codec packs as in K-Lite codec packs? i think have it for my MPC-HC
how can this be the cause of the crash though? is it because of the videos in the movie folder?
if i uninstall it then i won't be able to use my MPC-HC anymore, no?
i just updated my nvidia drivers yesterday but this doesn't seem to fix the issue
well i guess the problem is in the codec? can't afford to uninstall it right now cause i'm in the run of watching a tv series on my pc...
thanks to this gamefaqs thread http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/158397-akibas-trip-undead-and-undressed/71890442
Problem: Game freeze / crash after XSEED logo
Solution 1: Delete or Rename "mov_010_logo_acquire_win32.mp4" it is located on: "lang_jp/movie" or "lang_us/movie" depending on what language setting being used.
Solution 2: if problem still occurs, do the same to "mov_100_opening_win32.mp4"
Problem: Thanks that worked! but after i create the character, the game crashed again.
Solution: Delete or Rename this file "mov_110_prologue_win32.mp4"
after i applied all the solutions, my game work flawlessly although the intro video is skipped. (well you can watch it on the game folder anyway)
Problem: What if i want to watch the intro in game? i don't want to skip it!
Solution: No worries! you can create a duplicate of the intro video by replacing the original video files to the one you just created, just rename it to the same one as the original. just don't use the original and this will fix the crash issue.
To make your video play correctly, make sure to:
- Create the video resolution to be exact same as the original video
- Using right video codec. mp4
Mismatched resolution may result in disorted videos on the screen, audio on your video will also can be heard if you don't hear anything that means something is wrong with your file.
I have a feeling the codec pack is to blame. As I've stated in the past, I'm using CCCP which also uses Media Player Classic and it just works. So there's food for thought
This doesn't make sense to me. What are you replacing the originals with? Copy of itself?
