It seems Valve has contacted various developers an apologised for errors regarding this. Whether it means Valve have backtracked (fully or partially) is unknown though.
This game is tame compared to others (eg Re;Lord 1)

Also probably because pedophiles 'were' the core audience of that game. Pedophilia doesn't need to be sexual to be creepy as ♥♥♥♥ or a cause for genuine concern.

That aside, we're talking about this particular game where you don't have alot of graphic detail and done in a file format where modification is more difficult. There are no mods for this game, despite some efforts to do it in the past. The files are encrypted and have not yet been cracked.
