on the other hand, i am not able to leave the newly created games for more than two players, even when i'm the only one person, however, i've already made my first move.
i see "unable connect to this game" message and then the game no longer appears on any screen.
After changing maps in campaign, the little emblem on the relics from the previous map don't seem to disappear.
Sounds like a bugged game. Sorry for the trouble! I'd love to get your OS and version (such as Windows 7/8/9/10) to help me track issues.
(OS is Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca)
P.S. Solved the issue by registering through the portal.
I can't get the log in ten times achievement on windows or Linux in any combination of restarting or signing in and out.
My games don't transfer to different computers. (Both Linux)
In the current game, which involves players kanados (me), zaa, and commonsense32, all three players completed the first round. In the second round, zaa and I played our turns, and commonsense32 timed out and was retired.
First issue: when Round 2 began, I received an e-mail notification that it was my turn in a game. When my turn came up again in Round 3 after commonsense32 retired, I did not receive a notification; I simply happened to check the progress of the game on my own. I believe this is why I lost the previous game I mentioned, in which I played two turns, and then the game later disappeared from my list without me having been notified about my turn. I suspect the previous player retired, no notification was sent, and I was subsequently retired because I wasn't checking the online portal every day. Is there perhaps an issue where turn notifications aren't sent properly after a player has been retired for inactivity after 36 hours?
Second issue: I played my turn in Round 3, and clicked the checkmark. The game showed a sign saying "Red Player go", and then a couple of seconds later, another window popped up saying Red Player had retired from the game. However, his pieces remain on the board, the game remains active, and when I enter it, it seems to be my turn, despite Red Player not having moved. When I return to my list of games in the menu, the game entry is lacking the stars that would indicate my turn. I went so far as to sign out of my account, quit the game and restart, and sign back in, and the same situation is present: in the list of games, it does not show that it's my turn; when I enter the game, it is my turn, and the Red Player has not had the opportunity to move.
For the record, I'm running v1055.5p on MacOS X 10.11.4, on a circa-2012 iMac.
UPDATE THE FOLLOWING DAY: It occurred to me that maybe a way of kickstarting the game without taking unfair advantage would be to enter the game and simply click the checkmark without moving when it popped up my turn. When I did so, the same thing happened: "Red Player go", followed immediately by "Red retired from the game". At this point, shall I just mop up Red's remaining units to finish the game?
1) I took a screenshot of the game summary screen, which shows the Blue player 3 times. The Red player is shown as having played 6 turns, though the last 4 of those were the result of me ending my turns. Red did not play any moves after the 2nd turn.
2) The screenshot also shows that I earned 10 trisks for the game. This properly unlocked the Medal Winner achievement, for gaining 10 trisks in a single online game; it also unlocked the Medal of Honor achievement, which is supposed to be for earning 20 trisks in a single online game. When I looked at my account again, I saw that the 10 trisks from this game had pushed me to 20 trisks total in online play, so perhaps the achievement is checking lifetime trisks, rather than single-game trisks. I also notice from the Steam statistics that more people have unlocked the more difficult Medal of Honor (1.9%) than the more basic Medal Winner (1.2%), so there may be something up here.
And since I didn't mention it before, all of this occurred on the 3-player map By A Thread.
I started a 4-player game. After all 4 players had joined, each made their first move. In Round 2, I made my first move. Checking in a couple days later, I found that one player had (been) retired. I uploaded a screenshot of the My Games screen, to show the state of the situation. Only one player is marked as retired. However, when I entered the game...
1. The map displayed its last-known state, i.e. after my Round 2 move.
2. A banner came up saying "Red player go", followed by a second banner saying "Red retired from the game". Red's druids were removed from the map, and captured land/relic stones were freed.
3. A banner came up saying "Blue player go", followed by a second banner saying "Blue retired from the game". Blue's druids and land remained as they were.
4. Repeat for the Black player, as with Blue.
5. My turn came around again, and here we end up in the same state as the previous game I reported.
This time, I'm going to leave it, and see what happens. I'm going to guess that the other players won't receive turn notifications, and likely in a few days they will both be automatically retired. But... I guess we'll see. I'll report more if anything else interesting happens.
1. According to the My Games screen, three players still remained in the game (only one had the red X over their portrait).
2. In the game it was Round 3, but the Black and Blue players hadn't moved after their first turn. Red was still gone.
I clicked the checkmark to end my turn without moving, and the usual cycle of announcements that Black and Blue had retired came up, returning to my turn. I exited the game, and saw that the "your turn" stars had shifted to the Black player's portrait.
