rope drum to rope drum alternitive?
I'm attempting a portcullis and need to get the rotation form the control wheel on the ground to the "winding axle" at the top, I tried the obvious a rope drum at the bottom connected to a rope drum at the top as the bottom one turn it pulls rope through the top drum causing the axle to turn, it just jams

Is there an alternative method? or do I have to wait till further down the development process.

Well, you might have noticed that rope drums start fully unwound - e.g. you cannot unwind any rope to lower the drawbridge but have to build the bridge in the "open" configuration and *then* connect them with rope.
As such, connecting two rope drums will not allow any motion.
