Whats the rest of the specs?. The CPU is important with the amount of physx objects

I would not hold out hope, unless you play without the intention of smashing anything as it will be very performance intensive, especially now in its current not so optimized phase of release.

It's probably best to assume the GTX 260 is outdated by today's standards.
I get occasional hiccups with my GTX 560 and i could run games fine with my GTX 760.
Big open world games like this can run, but usually with frequent framerate issues (Speaking of the GTX 560).

I can't imagine this game or any other modern game enjoyable with the low framerate you'd get, if you can, i'd recommend getting a higher end card.

Why was DX9 not supported actually? It was in space engineers as I recall. Is it that there are elements being implemented that can't run on DX9, or do devs simply not have enough time to keep optimizing 2 different DirectX versions.

err... since you have a I7 CPU, just toss in a GTX760 will be a large boost for you, and 760 are currently fairly cheap as well :)

This is a 2015 game, if you want those old games that runs on a 12 years old APIs then please report to the Antique Department, which is on the other side of the road.

Well excuse me if I only ask a legit question. Why pull something out of the engine while you might as well leave it in.

Asking for somthing from 2002 to be support in a software released in 2015 and call it legit...

Welcome to the world of PC, which obslete software and systems on a monthly basis, and retire hardware on half yearly basis.

My last system had a GeForce 4 MX 420. That was in 2012.

Just buy a better graphics card mate, the rest of your machine is still pretty solid.

Check out http://geizhals.de/?cat=gra16_512 for example.

I can't even remember where did I put my old GeForce 4... Might be still eating dust at some dark corner at the back of the garage... If it is still there...(-_-)"

Sorry about him.

There isn't actually an option for "leaving it in" here.
DirectX is a hardware interface API that allows for more advanced shaders (some would say) than OpenGL. DirectX's updates need to be supported by the graphics card though. Each update of DirectX hardware can run code from previous DirectX versions, but to use the newer DirectX functions (Which make ME look so gorgeous and set it apart from the rest of the gaming world, including SE) the compatability is lost as older version hardware cannot run the new code.

Again, there isn't an option to "leave it in" as "leaving it in" means "not developing new game features that make this game into this game"
