How to use rope?

So I have been ataching tearable rope to my prototype catapult but I don't know how to get it to tear off or anything. How do i use it?

You need a basic rope with a rope drum for catapult, the tearable will detach if your character pass through it.

Okay well that is not much information to go buy. Obviously I am already using a rope drum, the problem is I have no idea how to get the rope cut and for some odd reason the t key became the auto walk key so there is no regular rope for me to use and release. I did use basic rope earlier of course, but did not know if I was supposed to use that. Now back to what I really wanted to know:

How do I cut the rope?

Simple question that I want answered.

From the rope drum settings > aim at the rope drum till you see the info saying ''Hold F to settings'' and hold the F key < this will open the rope drum settings and you will find the option the ''Detach'' the rope.

From rope end > aim at it and hold the right mouse click to cut the rope.*

It should have the info showing when you aim with the basic rope in hand.

I thought you were making something new with the tearable rope, so that's why, sorry

If you use the lockable drum > just hit F to unlock

Ho! It shows RMC right mouse click in the infos

Hold the right click with the basic rope in hand

Sometimes though when I hold right mouse button I get this rope with a green halo around it coming off of whatever I was clicking on, instead of the rope releasing

Hi Hexacosichoron, the ''green'' rope will show with the 0 key < nothing in hand, it's one of the 2 manipulations tools available.

Select the rope tool only when you need, so when you want to add a basic rope > aiming at a rope end or rope drum, the infos on what can be done will show up.

It may happen sometimes, it's because you are not aiming at the rope end or rope drum properly.
When it happens > aim where the ''green'' rope is attached and right click again to release.
