Do more Engineer testing in a new No Mods world to know more.
I found that if I place the spring above the rope Drum = way much better perfo.

so the cabbage issue - its actually a joke from one of our developer. But I guess its a time to change it - either prioritize projectiles over other stuff when in inventory, or just disable anything but projectiles to be loaded by F key.
About the second issue would be great if you could share the blueprint of your catapult so we can test it ourselves and report the bug to the programmers if we will be able to reproduce it.
If you shoot cabbage from the catapult, it will break the catapult.
Well, I thought cabbages were a way of sharing food with the less fortunate....
Now, however, the machine refuses to let go. It goes through the motions but the ammo is still attached. What am I missing this time? Probably wont use them often but would like to build one correctly at least...

Thanks for the help to this point. No more cabbage for me in the meantime though.
If you have the block (projectile) in hand = you must drop it a bit above so it will fall in cause if you placed it on the block = it will stay on like placing a normal timber 1x1 and will not be able to throw.
Makes sense Dan thank you. I will try it out once I rebuild. I have to expand the world a bit and correct some other issues but it makes sense.
We can do it manually by using the hand tool " 0 " (toolbar key), too!
Aim at dynamic item (floating on the soil) and Left mouse button to grab and drop.
Edit
Correction. sorry I think it's Left click and not Right, right is the hand rope.
Rebuilt the catapult and used the suggestions here and everything works great. While the basic unit is not all the great performance wise its enough that I know what needs to be done. That said, i shouldn't need to fire cabbages at anyone in the future....
Thanks to all of you for the assistance!
