Painting on voxels
I don't know if I am imagining things, but some years ago I read in a ME guide about a way you can use the voxel tool to 'paint' on top of voxels (for example: changing dirt into grass) without modifying the form of the voxel at all (like you would if you just created a small layer of grass above the dirt).
I couldn't find anything now, so I thought I would ask some of the smart people here if they know anything about this (who am I kidding, I summon you, Dan).
Otherwise I would like to suggest such a feature, since it would be easier (for me) to just create the form of my landscape first and paint grass / rocks later.
