Windmill stopped working
I had the windmill working fine. I deconst'd one of the (F)-framed vert. shafts to install a (F) vert split. After that the windmill stopped working. I trid re-const'n the original shaft...thje split..the fan blade..nothing I can think of is working. Thought I would try for info here before I have to do the whole windmill thing all over again. I think I've heard of something like this before. Little help ?
P.S...I had installed (2) mech. switches also, but they are turned off.

How long is this system? The more mechanical blocks between the windmill fan and the mechanical devices, the greater the strain. Also, multiple saw mills/grist mills will add strain. A long chain of mechanical blocks may not allow enough power to operate more than one device.

The more mechanical blocks in the system the less efficient it will be, this can even lead to the system not moving at all. Try reducing the number of mechanical blocks between the windmill and the machinery.
I prefer to run 1 machine off 1 windmill at any time, with as direct a connection as possible. This gives me the fastest completion time on crafted materials.

Standard 5 blocks between the blade and the grist mill (that is to say the mill, (3) down shafts, the top (f) hor. split). I WAS adding a crusher and sawmill, but they are dis-engaged by switches.but was working just fine. But, I did replace one of the standard (f) down shafts with a (f) vert. mech. split. I think thats where it stopped working. I guess I'll have to tear it all down and start over and observe exactly where the problem happens.

hello mk1papoh - can you share your blueprint with us? I will place it in the world and find out whats and why is not working there.

This happened to me on MP when my grain windmill stopped the minute I finished my roof near the sails. It had me scratching my head why it stopped, but after I dismantled the sails and rebuilt them, it started working again. My guess, there must be a collision conflict when you build next to it? I was able to repeat the issue when I made my wood mill and completed building the roof near the sails.

bit dark but this is my windmill set up http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1271894825

Thanks for the info Ayphion.
Could you share your blueprint of the windmill too?
Just hold left shift and press B while aiming at the windmill and it will open the blueprints menu and you can save it and publish it on steam. Then please share the link to it so we can investigate and fix this issue :)

My windmill is not working too. It worked and suddenly stopped. The second windmill working ok all the time. Every element, 100%.

Please help.

Hello mrqs,

can you reupload your windmill "That item does not exist. It may have been removed by the author." ? or have you find the cause? Is it working fine now?
mrqs Feb 18, 2018 @ 12:01am
No, it isn't. I deleted the crusher and windmill started to work. Like I wrote earlier it is 5 blocks high and is exactly the same as the one which works with sawmill.

The blueprint you enclosed does not work. Please reupload it and share again, so I can have a look.
If you are using ore crusher mod, that might be the cause of why it stops working. Just guessing now. When you will share the blueprint, I will be able to find the proper cause.

I can't make another blueprint 'cos the owner of the server I was playing just closed it down.
But yes I was using the ore crushing mod. Only what I can say is the windmill was built exactly as the one in tutorial. And it works ok for the first usage of ore crushing. And after that the windmill stopped to work. And when I destructed the ore crushing block, the windmill started to work. So the reason is ore crusher, but I wonder it's my fault (building wrong windmill) or the mod cause some error.

thats easy to find out. Just build two same windmills - one with ore crusher, one without and see the different results. Then Deconstruct the ore crusher and build for there for example two sawmills and if its still working, then the cause must be ore crusher itself.

I started playing again after several weeks and can report that my sawmill doesnt work anymore either. I just tried clearing and re-adding all the logs and timbers. (I have bothe systems on the same one.) and slightly deconstructed one block (so it stopped working) and fixing it again but even if the sawblades move, there is no production going on. Both have been full (with still more in the queque) and i suspect that might be the problem. (But unlike the other production blocks clearing the queque doest reset) I think if I build a new one it will work again.

thats weird. Its also hard to reproduce for us since its happening only sometimes and on dedicated servers outside. We never had an issue with this so far.
Could you tell me Kobi which server you are playing on? and maybe share the location, so I could teleport there and see it myself ?
Köbi Feb 20, 2018 @ 8:12am
I rarely play on servers. This was in my own world. But its all fine now. I took down all the mechanical parts (including windmillblade and saws) rebuilt them and it is spitting out timbers and planks like crazy again.
