way to connect multiple rope drums?

i am trying to build a door that i can raise but not the in game one, i want to make my own. when i connect two rope drums together the other one does not rotate with the first one. im trying to change the direction of the rope being pulled so a spinning rope drum on the ground can lift the door from above. is there a way i can connect them or accomplish the same thing with something els?

you connect a rope end to the door then to the rope drum. Face rope drum click and hold F. if that doesnt real it in then shift F . You can not connect a rope drum to a rope drum and make it work.

actually you can with work arounds. you can build a timber cross connected to the axis of 2 rope drums and conenct those timber crosses with 4 ropes. that way you can connect 2 rope drums with each other and they will turn the same direction. however this can be a buggy mess sometimes.

This. It's glitchy but works.
