I have noticed that in order to get things to snap well I have to stand a decent distance back and look toward the ground which is annoying because then I can't really see where it's snapping. I usually zoom out (ctrl + mouse wheel) while in FP to get the item as far away from me as possible in order to make the best of things however building does seem unenjoyable at the moment.
I also can't seen to get dynamic mode to work.
Maybe we're both just idiots? I'd like to hear some input from some others.
I tried almost everything to get it to work, but had to switch to creative to finish the roof off as it drove me mad.
Looks great now. ;)
It was much worse right after the recent big update- so the recent bugfixes have improved things a lot.
But still, for a building game to be so hard to build with is nuts.
all of this was built by hand in survival, theres more SS's from this world this is just the castle/keep build itself.
on your note with (j) not working, it does, there seemns to be a bug with it, you need to click J then deselect then reselect the block for some reason to get it to work (for me anyway). Hopefully it gets fixed. And hold (SHIFT) when placing blocks to toggle compound mode, i beleive its on by default now and stuff doesnt' snap properly unless you toggle it off for some pieces (roofs and floors are a big culprit)
