I'm not sure how a map from a Sci-Fi RTS would be able to translate into a Fantasy RTS.

Arctic Circle & Heck Freezes Over from Red Alert 2
I think a fun 4v4 map could be a map where there is a massive impenetrable line of trees down the center of the map dividing the teams. They have to chop through the trees to get to each other and thus create their own paths. Definitely requires patience, but I like it.

Anyway way to have cliffs or hill like terrain like in some of the maps for starcraft 2? It would be pretty cool to set up ambush points where you can take archers on top of a cliff.

It feels as though The Scouring has a logic that can exceed the typical cliff-logic that conventional maps rely on. Like, the units are cute and bouncy, you could easily see the them tumble off a steep cliff and survive unscathed (but not climb back up).

What I'm trying to say is, work out all the ways you can 'violate' the common RTS tropes first before copying their maps.
Warcraft 3 Stormguarde: players on their on small island that is interconnected by a large city/ruin in the center. Creates all sorts of opportunities for multiplayer mayhem.
Have you guys "un-buildable terrain" like city ruins/sand/scourge terrain on your mapping tools yet? would be really cool to have a map where players are connected by ruins on the center of the map where no one can build and it's a warzone populated by some abandoned goblins only (no defences and structures, only war)

could be a great 4-6 players map, having some lord of the rings vibes ruined city or just ruins with no-build zones on it
