Maybe you just have bad taste.
Aye, core keeper is fun.
I've got plenty of hours into it.
Taste is an ill word for a finer view of the details.
Terraria is good, Core keeper is good - but one shall not mention those in the same line without knowing that Terraria is a million times BETTER in terms of development and refinement.
Core keeper lacks that refinement, and the devs simply do not care, or are not given the time to do what needs doing to it.
I love Core Keeper, but the game has released nothing of valor after release. The game was gimped to a finite world, just about 1 or 2 days before 1.0 release, under the promise of the change being made, for the upcoming biome expansion, that now we know, are not coming soon.
A lot of, if not red, yellow flags are showing.
1. The game follows the art style of Starbound more than Pugstorm's style. Just watch their other released game, and you'll see it is closer to what CK is.
2. Why the sudden publisher change, and most of all, why Cucklefish?
3. Chucklefish has such a bad rep now, that I'm amazed that Pugstorm is even willing to be related to them.
4. Core Keeper's been out as a full released game for less than 6 months, there are a lot of stuff that needs fixing or be reworked. But Devs are just resting on their laurels because of the modders pretty much are doing the devs job with all their useful mods.
5. Pugstorm always said they were a kinda small team, and that was the reason of some stuff taking time to be added or fixed, but now all of a sudden they can split in 2 their dev team? And if Kyora developing isn't going to take away CK's developing time, why is nothing being done to add to the game QoL stuff that has been asked since the E.A. period?
I'm not doubting Pugstorm's ability to develop a good game, but it is obvious that a lot of people, me included, don't trust Cuchklefish at all.
Doesn't it seem kind of ridiculous to use a game that has 38k reviews, 92% positive, as an example of what NOT to do?? Either you love it or you don't. It sure seems that you don't.
Making the world finite is the only way to get Core Keeper to consoles, specifically the Nintendo Switch. Endless biomes with no surprises, secrets and easter eggs to discover are boring.
Most of the games they have DONT have modding either i believe, and if i remember right their general attitude about Stardew Valley (alongside the absolutely apocalyptic reputation Chucklefish has, due to Starbound) is WHY ConcernedApe dumped them as quickly as possible/went independent?
Comparing the two is stupidity at its ifnest.
Good for you.
