Also, you still need to get the parts for those free schematics and early to mid game it much harder to get some -4 -5 or even multiple -3 than some bannana so, that's that.
Also also, it only work on what you have so is it really that op to be able to build several of the measly item you already have if you rush your cooking skill to do that early ?
If you want op, play a chimera and spend your hard earned skill point on stuff like dual wield and dismember xd
so, psychometry from food, not op imho
The in-game description of psychometry says that you need the appropriate Tinker skill for each schematic, but that is a lie.
There seems to be a minimum character level for each schematic. Examples: to learn SSoNW this way you need to be at least level 20; to learn timecube level 24. (I'm not sure whether these level restrictions also apply to non-food psychometry, but I guess they do.)
You also need to have a high enough mutation level; the ego bonus for mental mutations applies. SSoNW needs mutation level 11, timecube needs 13. Since food gives psychometry only at level 1-2, you'll need a bonus of at least 9 (ego 34) for SSoNW, or at least 11 (ego 38) for timecube.
