Steam Deck Performance Issues

I tried playing this game on Steam Deck, but the performance seems to be pretty bad. It's turn based so locking to 30 fps isn't a big deal, but the game lag spikes for every input I press. It's especially noticeable when navigating the options menu, as well as simply moving around ingame. This makes the game sluggish to play.
