I did try to poke through the dbs myself but I don’t know how to read the blobs and didn’t see instructions in the modding guide for how to deserialize them.
In my case, it all started after i put a lot of stuff in chest. Initially i had my stuff in Argyve's place but then i put them in a chest of mine near recoil spot. After i put a lot in the chest, saving took longer (not tooo much stuff though) i was level 12.
After the symptom of saving taking longer, next time i go into an expedition the game hangs on thawning when i tried to recoil back. In my case i really left it for a while and then it loads up with the village reset and my stuff gone.
I continued the game as level 12, with all my stuff gone, this time i only put stuff in Argyve's place, in his "chest" furniture. By level 26 it happened again. Saving took longer, i head out, can't recoil back.
The village resets after a very long thawing time, stuff is gone.
checking the logs i get out of memory when thawing.
(tried with no antivirus, as admin, removed "read only".(was trying things)
I walked back to the village, same.
I did hear about other people mentioning that the village resets as well.
edit: the symptom of saving taking longer happens as soon as you unload everything you have into the chest.
edit#2: i also sent the save, but i also have a save i copied right before i left for exploring, because i feared it would happen again. That save is still in joppa when i filled chest and saving took longer tell me if you want it.
If it deteriorates to the point you can no longer load the village sadly the stuff is gone.
But it looks like the issue is fixed for new saves or ones you can still click on chest.
Once it does load, everything is normal. I do have several containers and objects that I'm using for storage, although I don't think any individual one has more than 15-20 objects - not sure if that's enough to be considered a problem.
(Also using several mods, but nothing that should affect Grit Gate as a location, or the way storage or containers work.)
