You can sometimes see albino apes in the jungle. Some have unusual behavior: they move around from screen to screen. These are on a pilgrimage, and going to Oboroqoru's lair.
If you're friendly with apes and find a legendary ape, you can ask them to share secrets. The location of the lair is a possible secret from them.
And of course, you might just get lucky and learn the location through random secrets or just by traveling on the world map.
Getting the Fist of the Ape God, however, is another issue. Oboroqoru's rep gains/losses are much higher than normal. If he's loved by some faction that you want to be friendly with, killing him is not really an option. In that scenario, you would greatly benefit by doing the water ritual with him, which will allow you to recruit him. But then you'll have to find a way to make him die, which can be difficult because he's really tough. You also need to make sure that whatever kills him will not also destroy the Fist while it's on the ground.
But it's a great weapon, just annoying to carry around because of the insane weight.
Indeed, this is also a functional way to do it, assuming you have the cloning draught to spare and are actually capable of killing it (again, he's really tough).
This works because clones don't share the original legendary creature's reputation modifiers.
As for killing or recruiting him, i will decide wenn i see the loved/hated relations.
I have never seen this method fail. I've only done it maybe five times, so I guess that is a small sample set. But, as far as I know, any apes you find in the jungle near Kyakukya who are moving between screens will _Always_ lead you to Oboroqoru,
They do. The unreliability comes from the fact that not every screen in that jungle has albino apes, albino apes present on a screen are not necessarily on a pilgrimage to Oboroqoru's lair, and even if they are, they can be killed (or run after all sorts of enemies) on the way, especially if a screen has a legendary in it.
But if you do spot the moving apes, yeah, there's a really good chance you're going to find his lair. You just gotta follow them close and protect them.
