if you look in the journal, it will say it, but it's easy to miss. One npc told me the location of a water weep in the hill and i went there and nothing was there
, but then i looked in the journal and it said "14 strata deep" and i was like, yeah no, i'm not slogging through 14 underground stratums. .not for 48 drams of water i'm not. . .
if the secret is leading you to a particular npc or legendary creature, it is possible that they either got killed by something in their environment before you found them or they wandered off.
I once had a lair of a legendary salt kraken and when i got there, it was gone. . . because they burrow through the walls and just wander in a random direction and apparently, they will keep going all the way to the edge of the world map, even crossing over into new biomes, but it also leaves a trail of garbage you can follow and I found it 4 screens away
> [ - ] Merchants
> the distillery of Soandso, legendary ichor merchant 2 parasangs east and 4 parasangs north of Omonporch Last visited on the 11th of Yur Ut
(this one was ostensibly in the center of the parasang)
> [ - ] Artifacts
> the Ruin of House Isner 7 parasangs east and 2 parasangs south of Joppa Last visited on the 18th of Iyur Ut
(this was ostensibly on the NW side of the parasang)
Both claim I "visited" them, both cases amounted to strip mining the surface looking for literally any door, stairs, hole in the wall, whatever, both came up with exactly nothing, and both were pretty walled off by additional walls on all sides
I don't kniw the keyboard command, it's D-pad down on controller.
If you tried that already. are you sure you dug out all the walls to make in case the stairs generated surronded by walls?
I do wonder about the "last visited" thing, because the game sometimes doesn't mark places as "visited" when i visit them.
ot at least, it doesn't mark them right away. it usually does, but sometimes i'll visit a place and clear it out and it won't get marked "visited" until weeks later.
I cleared out a historical site and got the prize st the bottom and it still hasn't marked that one as "visited"
