Extradimensional Temple Mecha Repair

I was strolling through the Deep Jungle, minding my own business, when I was accosted by an Extradimensional Temple Mecha Esper Hunter from the Eternal Torus (hate it when that happens).

I did the first thing that came to mind, which was punching my way into its cockpit with my bare hands, killing the pilot and eating their corpse (they were a mere Putus Templar Gunner, I suppose the driver themself was a rental).

Hopping back out of the Mecha, it is now helpless and immobile without a pilot.

I find myself the proud owner of a new Extradimensional Temple Mecha Ia Esper Stalker! Now I have a small problem though: Whenever I try to enter it again, I just get a message saying it refuses me entry - I do not get an option to attack with a chance to penetrate anymore. Similarly, if I try to repair it, I get told I cannot repair while hostiles are nearby (the Temple Mecha itself is the only thing onscreen but is still flagged as hostile itself).

How do I get back inside my new Extradimensional Mech/Repair it?

I will try this, not entirely certain it will work since Esper Hunters belong to the playerhater faction, but I have never actually checked before.

Playerhater just means that you can not do anything with reputation. You can freely beguile all extradimensional hunters (if you pass the checks), even if they are oozes or robots. They have mind inserted. Proselytize works on basically everything in the game anyway.

Getting extradimensional companions is frankly one of the bigger boni from Glimmer. They can be so ridiculously strong.
