Where do you find or buy the rare bits for Tinkering?

It seems all that's commonly available is the first sever or eight materials. The last five are very rare and hard to come by. Any ideas?

You don't. They only show up on the actual items they make, which are quite rare most of the time other than the guaranteed ubernostrum. Tinkering for gear doesn't really work, you should instead pound out lots of grenades.

The guys who sell data disks also sell scrap. You can also take scavenger to get more bits from robots.
