Unstable Genome Stacking?

So I never messed with this till now but I noticed that I could put multiple points into Unstable Genome. I tried searching around on the net and here and am still a bit confused to the benefit of stacking points into it though?

Would it make it more likely to happen or better choices etc if I were to put more points into it? Thanks.

The description is actually rather confusing.

With one 'stack' of it you have a 33% chance each level to get a 'free' 4 mutation point option ie. pick from 3 random mutations. Once you've done this, that's it. You have uncovered your 'hidden' mutation from character creation and no longer have the random mutation chance. Two stacks gets you two extra mutations overall etc.

It's basically a way to gamble on getting 4 or 5 point mutations for 3 points at the cost of waiting a few levels, but it doesn't give you more 'free' mutations than the number of levels you buy in it.

Oh okay thank you :D That is way easier to understand than what it stated and from what I've read everywhere else.
