Need (3) and (4) bits!

Mostly (3) bits though, since I need it for spiral borers, and programmable recoilers. How do you guys find 'em consistently?

They are prevalent in recoilers and mid-game ranged weapons.

Grit gate traders also sell them somewhat regularly (IIRC at least up to ~3 and rarer higher). Tier 4-6 is pretty bad to get, since there is no scrap trader from Grit Gate until Yd and you basically have to disassemble a lot.

Long blade disarm helps a lot and so does axe dismember (decapitating robots usually grants their tier as bit for a head).

Last time I checked dawning ape heads even granted 8 bits even though they are only tier 7. I think that might have changed though.

I always go down the Grit Gate once you get access to Barathrumite hideout. It's pretty common to get those bits from random artifacts there especially if you have a way to pass through all locked doors and you don't even need to go that deep. There usually also are piles of scraps behind some of those locked doors with some (3)s. That dungeon is also pretty easy and fast to autoexplore
