Any tips on how survive Sunder Mind as a True Kin?
For the longest time, I started out as a mutant with mental mirror whenever I could. But for the first time, due to the daily from a few days ago, I gave True Kin a try, and I got as far as Bethesda Suda.

I got down a few layers until a ninja looking sprite in a room convalessence pools sundered my mind for ~70 damage each round. I was too far of the stairs to leave the area to cancel it. My mental defense was 6, and of course I died in 3 rounds. so I'm not sure how to survive that room, if any of you have a good idea how to reduce damage from that as a True Kin, I'm all ears.

In bethesda susa, this enemy was probably a legendary seeker of the sightless way. In future runs, they probably won't spawn because this was a random boss that was only there due to bad luck.

In the future you can deal with this a few ways:

1) force bracelet -> recoil (this is what I use)
2) eat yondercane (free one in the Stilt) to teleport back to stairs
3) long range nightvision to see them from farther away so you can decide to bail to stairs
4) Pop salve injector to help give more time to race to stairs
5) always play truekin with good ranged attacks so you can attack the legendary seeker of the sightless way
6) fear (from menacing stare) and confusion (from flashbang) break sunder mind

70 dmg per turn definitely sounds excessive and like a legendary. Other sunder mind sources should not hit this hard. Apart from what was said (though yondercane teleport is random, not targeted at stairs) you can:

1. any way to leave the screen interrupts sunder mind
2. grenades the usually squishy enemy (flash bangs do confusion and instantly interrupt)
3. run around with a meal with spine fruit jam (any reflect damage interrupts sunder mind)

Can confirm it was "something" of the sightless way: https://prnt.sc/lWULyo0zFQ3i

x7 pens against an MA of 6 is extremely harsh. Seeing that there was also an astral tabby as a thrall I find it hard to believe that this was in Bethesa Susa. Not sure about the log since the order is a bit weird but I guess there was also some fightign with saltbacks before that that could have given you a clue on how hard that one can hit.

Forgot to add that recoilers can also work without force wall, since they "in combat" check does not actually have anything to do with combat happening, but checks the walkable distance to enemies. If there are reachable enemies (no walls) withing range 8 or so, you can't recoiler. If they are further away and currently shooting at you or similar, you can recoil.
