Are bones useful or trash?

Are bones usefull or trash? They get highlighted when I hold Alt, so I'm wondering if they're worth picking up.

Corpses get highlighted because some of them have a use and because there can be items in there. For some that just means "in the same tile", but some are like chests. Auto-explore should open the chests ones.

Bones aren't trash. Trash is actually useful with the right skills.

A more accurate word for bones would be detritus.

Yeah, it doesn't qualify as a midden without at least a campfire, but the most accurate term would still be "unburied corpse." More so since the game also generates literal tombstones (still waiting for devs to add graves to dig up, then make grave desecration a combination of stealing AND rep loss).

Edit: Digging up buried bodies could also produce miasma gas, just to really deter all but the most hardened of ghouls...
