Something that's been bothering me
I've been playing the game for a while and there is a constant to all of my games that leaves me wondering.

What is Argyve's beef with Mechanimists?

Seriously, the Mechanimist zealot in Joppa always ends up dead whenever he comes in sight of Argyve leaving a pair of scriptures and maybe a bloody tinkerer.

When you make a new world, it randomly assignes (I think) factions to all major/legendary characters. Sometimes when this happens you get Argyve and The Zealot flagged with opposing factions and Argyve always pulls out a win, since the Zealot has a book of scriptures as his only valuable possesion. But In lore I've come to find out that Argyve *loves* tinkering, to the point of hiring people like you the PC to go and find new things for him to mess with and tinker around with from places like the Rust Wells, or random caves across Qud.

But if you visit the Six-Day Stilt far to the North across the sandy plains, you'll find a seemingly endless well where the Mechanimists have built up their temple of sorts to cast artifact after artifact into the depts as an offering of sorts. They think that the people of Qud are unworthy of possesing such powerful, yet alien things and that they must all be collected and prevented from falling into the wrong hads. But you're free to draw your own infrences, I may have glossed over passages from books and the like - or simply misremembering things.

Hopefully this helps!

It should probably be considered a bug just for the reason that... if Argyve was unable to live with him peacefully, how has the Zealot survived in the village up until now?

The warden still occasionally murders mehmet for no discernable reason. I think these pyschotic episodes that some of the characters suffer from are part of the game's charm.

Ehhhh. I think it's pretty bad for them to happen in the first town. Like, if I started up the game, having never played it before, and saw that on my first game, I'd have no idea what's going on and might assume it's just buggy. Mehmet getting murdered in particular breaks the Red Rock questline, which is going to be more important in the future, I think.

Mehmet getting killed is a bug, since the faction system is a relatively new addition, and does not have exceptions for such rare occurrences yet. And it should have since something like that can seem to break the game, especially for new players who don't necessarily know how chaotic it can sometimes get out there in Qud...

The Argyve's problem with the the zelot, on the other hand, seems to be planned as it is happening more reliably than faction clash of Mehmet and the Warden...

I always killed the zealot before Argyve got his dirty hands on him. My precious XP!
