Edit: Forgot to add you got lucky the first run through the site, usually kraken sites eat the relic and credit chests the first try.
Well, that's unfortunate. It was a Tier 8 Relic too. I suppose the moral of the story is to ALWAYS check for multiple relics in site histories before visiting tier eight sites so you know to rush the chests before they get eaten.
What really irks me is that I now have that particular objective sitting in my journal for the rest of the run.
Or you could just do the relic generation wish, it will generate all relics listed in secrets for that run, so you can get your missing relic (or start the game with every relic from every historical site, abuse it how you want).
I mean, that's probably suicide, but still, it's annoying.
I'm sure some build can kill them.
I've never gotten that far, and all my ruins spawn never close to end game areas.
As for getting the loot back, can't wait for the devs add temporarily generated dungeons to getting eaten by star krakens (salt krakens still just kill you). Be cool to have a limited time to try to fight out of a 1 zone dungeon before getting digested (kind of like dream crungling)! Sadly, that is definitely some DLC level changes, although maybe someone makes a mod for it first...
Ah. Okay.
Good to know.
So, a Star Kraken could be like an Astral Dreadnaught.
Which is what the Cacodemon from Doom is based on.
The Astra Dreadnaught would eat people and then they'd go into a pocket dimension and live out their lives there.
Ah. Fair.
What is this game's Pocket Dimension?
I'm a bit far behind on a lot of updates to this game.
