In What Ways Can You Interact With Things With Phase Modulator?
If you have the Phase Modulator cybernetic, in what ways are you able to interact with things out of phase? Can you touch them? Use melee weapons on them? Shoot them? I am not referring to anything that has the Phase Modulated mod. I am only talking about the cybernetic.

Does that mean that if I get the Phase Modulator that I won't need the Phase-harmonic mod on a weapon?
Yeah but if you want to only use the weapon for your phase interactions, that would be better. If you e.g. wanna hit a phased enemy, the weapon would be able to hit it while it can't hit back. If you have the phase modulator, you can hit each other, since you and everything you use are in both phases. But since you can toggle it on and off, it is a very comfortable way of dealing with enemies or yourself being phased for reasons.

You are basically omniphase and can interact as if you were phased in and out at the same time. The things can also interact with you.

Good to know. Does this extend to my melee equipment? What about ranged attacks? Things I drop like grenades?

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Dang, you have a very good point. The trade-off is being omni-phase so interaction is two-way and saving on weapon mod slots or being able to hit things out of phase and saving cybernetic license cost. Honestly, I might just use weapon mods. I'll play around with it. Thanks for the clarification.

It is only 2 license points and any body slot you want. It is probably designed as a rather cheap option to deal with phasing and not as some late game must-have cybernetic. You can just pull it out of your body if you don't need it anymore and turn if off during combat when phase enemies endanger you.

There are also many cool weapon mods that you could use instead. They only have 3 slots and every mod gets more expensive than the last (until you hit max tier). You could also use options like normality or mental attacks though.

It's hard to know what build to work toward when you don't have enough experience to know how it would play out. I may just have to try some things before making a decision.

The good thing with weapon mods and cybernetics is that you do not have to commit to a build. If you do not like it: change it.

You don't need a ton of normality until late game in general. Occasional force walls and the Bethesda Susa fish (both things that you can handle otherwise)
