Domination : "transfer spirit" bug
I did have what looks like a nice bug with the domination spell. the domination on a creature usualy end when your character take a hit. However it looks like it doesn't happen all the time as I got killed while dominating a snapjaw.
What happenned is that I stayed in the snapjaw for the rest of the game, leveling up and mutating the little fellow as any other character. I already knew about the possibility of dominating a beguiled creature in order to upgrade it and mess with its inventory. This is a bit similar and quite fun. Except snapjaws have pretty bad attributes ! :P

Does this happenned to anyone ? With what creature ? :D

If it's really a bug, maybe it could be added in the game as a stable feature ? I don't find this really overpowered has you loose all your previous mutations/skills and have to level up your new body from the start, and it brings a new way of playing the game.
Creatures mutations don't have a description and it mess a bit with the faction system however : it looks like you use faction relations from your new body, but the faction sheet do not take the changes into account.

Edit : I was able to reproduce the bug, but not sure how. Maybe this is due to killing yourself with your own dominated creature. I'm currently playing has a honey skunk...
fun fact : honey skunk can equip a shotgun. :3

Hilarious, I love bugs like this. You can do the same thing with the Metamorphosis Mutation as well if you activate it in the debug menu to play as any kind of creature you wish though to completely bypass trying to transfer over through domination though.

Shotgun Honey Skunk don't give a **** it ain't got no thumbs.

Alas! Honey skunk is'nt strong and start at lvl 9. Could'nt go very far with this guy... ^^
I didn't knew about Metamorphosis. I will try it asap. Thanks for the tip ! :D

What a shameful representation of what I assume is the Badger Skunk future Hybrid :(
Hmm... I'm trying to make this build (without using metamorphosis), but now I got myself a question. Does Inspiring Presence Carry over? Like, if my follower has 24 extra hit points from me having IP, then I kill me, does my follower keep his extra hit points?
Damn. I've managed to get myself a sweet level 1 unique Snapjaw who started with 50 health, whose scaling really well, but I can't finish Argyve's wire quest, as it doesn't detect me as having picked up the wire!

Strange side effect with the wire quest though. Did'nt go this far with my own run...

Yeah, I eventually died to being stupid to Chaingun turrets, which is pretty much normal for me.

Most runs tend to go: Red rock -> Wire Quest -> Rusted Archway-> Step into room full of Chaingun Turrets but don't notice for 1 turn-> Dead

I use the auto explore to not get curb stomped, it works pretty good for that since I have a habit of tapping movement directions too fast that the bullets just keep popping into me. You generally know something strange is going on if the auto explore suddenly stops and you aren't just in some long straight hallway that'll mess it up. Really getting a lot of use out of sprinting like crazy to freedom when I see that happening.

By the way the first rank Acrobatics skill is pretty amazing for helping with turrets at a distance.

Happenned way too many time. Problem is it works 1/5 of the time and this encourage me to keep trying... T_T

Auto explore is useful, but I think it don't stop when turret shoot at you, as long as they miss you. When you finally take a shot and stop auto-explo you may end in a tricky situation. It has issue detecting ennemis in narrow corridors or mushrooms area too. I tend to explore manually in these situations.

Mushroom Areas. -Shudder-.

I hate the Fungal Infections so much because of just imagining what it'd look and feel like to have those things on you. Hilariously enough though, if you don't mind not being able to modify your gear slots the Fungal Infections might make for a fun playthrough, purposely infecting every slot on your body with them for above average armor with no weight or dodge negative that also sprays out a spore cloud that hurts everything around you while not damaging items.

Really on the auto explore? I guess I'll keep a better eye on it next run to see how effective it is, I guess my heads a little fuzzy on whether or not it's been a good enough warning on incoming threats.

This is a thing I noticed several times about auto-exploration. Usually it brings me on contact with a qudzu or another plant when passing a corner. Can be dangerous somtimes.

I tried a full shroom run one time. Not bad, especially with a good esper and glowcrust for cold resistance. But the merchant in Kyakusometing village will attack you because of the loss of reputation with the Consortium. :p
It's also sad you can't equip anything on the fungal outcrop that grow on you. A fungus merchant that sell items for these slots would be a fun addon to the game. :)

Something else that's weird and has kindof annoyed me is sometimes my Recoilers refuse to work underground. I just at first assumed they never would but last night while showing off my longest running character where I first utilized Beguile/Domination to my friend I was actually able to teleport out of the underground at the 20th floor.

Do Recoilers not work underground at random points? Did they just get patched to actually work underground?

Either way the fight to get back to the surface has always been frustrating. I have a character who for the last few days I'll play for an hour or two where I can't find the final staircase up and I'm finally on the first underground level. It's not like he's in any danger because my god can a full strength build praetorian carry ALOT of food and water at decent levels. Really wish I had gotten my hands on the injector that gives you claws to make my own staircase.

There is a 20th floor ? I thought it stopped at 15th. ^^
As far as I know, recoilers always work, except when there are hostiles nearby (sometimes it seems it take into account hostiles creatures on next area, when you are too close to the edge of the screen).

Ah that could be it. Here I just thought it was a thing that had to do with being beneath the ground. Yeah I don't know what the limits are for delving deep, but the further you go the better the loot is, and the more dangerous the things you'll come across are. I encountered my first snailmothers a few days back, and those things are by far the most dangerous things I've encountered since you can't even cheese them like I did with the Knights Templar and their Warmonger [He would have completely wrecked me if his AI didn't bork out and equip his little box artifact like his weapon @_@]

lol ! Yeah, Snailmothers are the worst thing I encountered along with Saad Amus clones.

On a side note about fungus, they are a good way to bring a bad random build decent. It can probably work too if you end up in a bad creature body with the domination bug, as I suppose fungus can infect unusable slots some monsters have (tail and paws, for example).
