You know if you just stay in Joppa...
...this game is pretty relaxing. Everyone's just hangin' out, doing their thing. Why must we ruin it by leaving?

Just be a tourist. Walk around to everywhere, never killing anyone!

Right! Seems like a nice enough place, why bother going around wrecking everything?

You will starve and dehydrate eventually.

What if you're a humble watervine farmer who makes a living harvesting watervines from the adjacent swamp?

Then you die from dehydration for sure. You can't sell vinewafers for enough water to survive.

Damn that makes what the watervine farmers do rather harsh.
Nah, vine wafers give a little water when you eat them, so it may be possible.

How do you pronounce Joppa? Is it Yoppa or Joppa? Because jopa in russian means 'a-s-s'

Well now it's definitely "joppa".

This matter has been bothering me, as well. I did some research and found out that it might be connected to a Hebrew word (“Yafo”) that means “beautiful”. It's latinized as "Joppa", but the original pronunciation is, indeed, Yafo, with a stress on the second syllable. Here you can read more about this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa and http://www.joppa.org/about-joppa/what-does-joppa-mean/

It could also be spelled "yafo" or "jaffa", if it's intended as a reference to the ancient port city in Israel called joppa in the Bible.

Funny story. This one time, my esper caught ironshank, and it made me full-on immobile just as I was passing through Joppa. Fortunately, my character could teleport, so I could go between Argyve and that Dromad merchant, constantly refreshing their inventory by waiting around 3 months until one of them sold a desalination pellet that I would use to make gel for the cure. To survive, I'd camp near the watervines, harvest them for vinewafers, wait 100-something turns, then harvest them again, until I got the message that Argyve and the Dromad mechant refreshed their stock. I'd teleport around, check their inventory, then go back to the watervine. The rate at which I was eating them was significantly lower than the rate at which they were accumulating in my inventory. By the time that desalination pellet popped up, I had over 2000 vinewafers in my inventory. I'd post screenshots, but that save is no longer functional due to the memory issue.
