Actually I'm inclined to agree. Find a lava weep and you will never have energy troubles again.

Current CoQ is much more generous with almost every type of item compared to 2012 demo. Even too generous. Finding a useful item no longer feels like an event, more like something that's granted upon player.

Not really a bad thing at all. I prefer the 'base' of roguelikes like this to be tuned somewhat easy, because they have systems that allow people looking for a challenge to voluntarily sign up for a challenge - in Qud that system is difficult/inoptimal builds. I love FTL to death for that reason; the base game is essentially damned easy once you get a handle on it, but some of the ship layouts are just brutal to win with. And then you go for the voluntary challenges, trying to win with/without certain systems/weapons... NetHack had the Conduct system for the same purpose, though that game is intensely hard to begin with.

And of course, when the basic game is easier, more people can enjoy the game. That's a good thing, I would love this game to sell a metric ton and for as many to enjoy it as possible!

Back on topic though, of course, it's easy to tune the difficulty, or to add a difficulty switch. Just detune the drop rates... and even if that doesn't happen... Steam Workshop is there!

But all that said, in this case I think the thermo-cell is just a little bit too good.

Thermo cells at least require you to track down some lava to fill them up, though their capacity is decent. Biodynamic cells are the OP cells. Blood is everywhere, and they have huge amount of power per dram of blood. I never bother with nuclear or antimatter cells for this reason. That being said please don't nerf them because I love them.

Joke post. I meant they're OP when you try to disassemble one for the first time and burn to death IN A SINGLE TURN from the lava. Jesus christ, I assumed my lvl 15 Tinker fella could have done it in an intelligent and safe manner. Must've just cracked the thing open with a hammer whilst holding it over his head.

Oh crap I never even thought about that consequence!

Every once in a while I find a waterskin with drams of lava in it and I must remind myself that any disturbance of that magical waterskin will cause it to rupture. I try to sell them to prevent fat thumbs or brain dead suicides.
