The pathfinding on followers is a bit sketchy, and there isn't a UI that lets you cure them, so I don't mind using cheats in this situation.
IMO, Apothecaries should have a "cure disease" service that directly cures yourself and followers. There should also be "anti-fungal chairs" similar to hyberbiotic beds.
The in game solution is Dominate, eat yuckwheat, by the way. However, options to control your followers better would be welcome. We should be able to equip allies and freeze equipment slots (stop replacing your fully skilled crysteel long swords with random trade good weapons I have you carrying, clone!). We should be able to feed companions from our inventory. We should be able to locate companions from a menu somewhere so that we don’t have to babysit who might get left on a dungeon floor randomly when they followed you 130 times before.
This feature (companions) should be fully supported if it’s to be present. I’m sure it will be eventually! For now, use the graciously provided Wish commands to fix the problems. I just gave myself Dominate which I use only to get around the shortcomings of the system, not for game cheating.
