Lost in underground
I spent one day getting from level 5 to 1 and now spent another day just finding those darn upstairs. Why isn't there any? I have found only several downstairs. I know, don't go there without a recoiler. I kind of lost on my way back to Joppa and next thing to do was Rust Wells:) Well, got a bunch of levels and a sore wrist already, can't complain.

One way I've read of was to just go as far north as you can, then west. You'll hit the asphalt mines eventually.

Ok, have to try that. Not ready to cheat yet :) Thanks.

Is this rarity because the entrance to underground is always related to special locations? Too many random access would ruin something? Because if not, I can't see why there couldn' t be more of these. Underground is fun with all those corpses etc.

There are occasional accessways, and not just those in special locations.

Ok, good to know. Thanks.

This is why you aren't supposed to go spelunking until you have a recoiler.

Yeah, getting lost is annoying.
THe good news, if you have Burrowing Claws, getting to a staircase is a bit easier.
And if you activated the prelease content/unfinished content section in the Debug section, Burrowing Claws gets the ability to make Upstairs and Downstairs on the fly.

Why that is unfinished/Prelease I don't know, but probably because of how overpowered that is. :P

would be a cool expansion to the willpower tree, IMO -- "cave knowledge". "you sense an opening in the rock to the northwest".

I know and thought about it when I entered there, that makes me even more angry at myself :)

Sounds something I could spend my skill points, I second this. Recoilers kind of spoils this but sometimes you might want to keep exploring and also there could be places where recoilers are jammed? I once entered a room where my torch was lit but no light, a bug or intended, maybe hallucination because I have wondered there way too long for now...

I just want a Re-Recoiler so I can recoil home, drop my loot, and go right back to where I was.

Having to retrace my steps is annoying D:

That would be pretty sweet. Great item idea to add devs to-do-list.

Actually, that would make the gameplay even more primitive. I think recoilers should be cancelled at all.

The only difference between recoilers and no-recoilers gameplay is whether or not you actually have to write down which map transitions you passed through. It's just more effort, not an actual change to gameplay.

Some tracking system would be nice, other than CHOO CHOO's pen and paper method :) Quds version of GPS, with this device on you could track your earlier movements? I think I have seen few more crazier inventions than this...

The Re-Recoilers would make it way too easy - right now, while the normal Recoilers save you time on getting back, you still have to plan what to pick up and which loot is better (daggers>maces) to carry around. Player would be swimming in money (literally, in this case :) very quickly if it was possible to teleport at will and they would have to change Recoilers to be way more expensive in use to balance that...

Yeah, the only heavy weapons worth carrying at all are carbide+ gear. Carbide Hammers aren't that heavy, and really, Fullerite weapons are the only really heavy weapons. :P
