Practically speaking though, it won't actually get you much.
The Eigenrifle's energy drain actually isn't that bad, compared to various other applications. If you're close to the surface you can just use solar cells, if you're often using recoilers (or close to towns), you can always just get them recharged at a tinker's. And you can recharge them yourself if you have the bits for it.
I like solar cells, though they're obviously poorly suited to deep delving.
One shot from an Eigenrifle costs 150 units, so one of those bigger bad boys should last you for a full, long voyage into any dungeon.
I just scum it on start and enjoy the game. ))
Eigen Rifle uses 150 units of power, as opposed to 100 per shot for Laser Pistol/Rifle. Stun Rod uses 10 per stunning hit and Recoiler 2500 per activation.
Internet tough guys, assemble! :P
If it's a problem, you should consider learning tinkering I so you can recharge batteries yourself. You should also avoid wasting shots on weaker enemies, which can just be killed in melee.
