Is scrap only for disassembling into bits?

Do you only disassemble scrap for bits or are the scrap pieces also used for other things like in recipies maybe?

That or bartering for if your ego is decent. I've had a Baetyl ask for four cracked lenses and he gave me a miner's helmet. Could also get free attribute points or skill points if you're lucky.

Aside from those, yeah, they're typically used to disassemble for basic bits.

Yeah, can be sold for decent money at low levels (provided decent ego). Some of the not-quite-scrap items like plastic trees actually have some uses though.

Once you have the Tinkering I skill you can start to use various scrap to build or modify existing items based on build and modify recipies you find in-game.
