Mind Sear nerf vs. mental mirror buff?
Esper hunters have been 1 shotting me even with taking mental mirror at chacter generation. Not sure if the damage could be reduced or mental mirror could decrease the damage when it bounces maybe?

Last messages of my lvl 18 esper RIP :(

Your psyche exploded, and its psionic bits were encoded on the holographic

get more willpower to reduce magic damage. How high was your glimmer? Mental mutations scale fast due to stacking ego bonus. Glimmer is there to nerf that fast scaling.

That only makes it more irritating and unrewarding, even punishing. Why not just cut Ego bonus in half? I play with NoGlimmer because ♥♥♥♥ it, all I'm doing is fighting espers and being jealous of chimeric mutants.

I was playing with the esper morphotype so of course glimmer builds very fast and there are lots of esper hunters. I was playing a ego, toughness, agi, build when this 1 turn game over occured. As you pointed out because my willpower was not high, the mind sear damage, even despite mental mirror, was extremely large. I'm not debating physic glimmer, some people really don't like it, and I definitely understand why, I personally enjoy having a random bossfight challenge, and the random +1 to ego you can get makes them enticing to fight, in my opinion.

The crux behind my suggestion that mental mirror/mind sear possibly be modified I would frame in this question....If you are playing an esper, do you have to play with high willpower?
As the abilities sit right now I think the answer is yes, as seen in my example sooner or later a esper hunter with mind sear and mental mirror will one shot kill you if you don't. My suggestion stems from what I feel is a very strong aspect of the game, that you can build your character however you want. What if you want to build an esper with high agility and use guns, what about one with high stength and big guns but low toughness, ect. My suggestion is rooted in that modifying how the mind sear/esper hunter damage plays may allow the player more freedom to create a character with whatever skill ephasis they want, and still have it be viable.

Glimmer is fine as a concept but it needs scaling. It needs to be a pain in the ass but it shouldn't be so oppressive that people use mods to turn it off.
