Check your journal, or look for unusual locations on the world map.
You can also press ALT while on the world map, it will mark any locations noted in your journal with a blue star.
You can also learn a historical location without learning about an artifact, of course, but in my experience there's always an artifact in there anyway. Once I got the quest to recover an artifact I had already found at random, and it didn't complete even when I dropped it and picked it back up. The reward of XP is usually pretty negligible by the time you can safely get them, so no big deal.
Yeah i double checked, im 100% sure that i only have the quest of recovering Y relic y X site, also checked the map and the journal.
When I got a quest to discover an artifact I already had, all I had to do was look at the artifact again and I got the XP for it.
Mind you, unless they're like Legendary Putus Templar, they're probably not going to sell amazing stuff. :)
I play a lot of True Men, so sue me.
If you already cleaned up the 4 sultan dungeon and still not found all the relic from your independant quest there is not much to do bside exploring random ruins a pray to the RNG god.
Also, last update state that it "Fixed a rare issue causing objects generated during world generation to not properly spawn in game." ==> I read that as "now the relic you're suposed to find are actually garantee to exist somewhere in the game".
For Ptoh sake, till couple of updates ago you weren't even always able to find all the historical sites with shrine/painting/angraving and such. You had to stumble upon them.
I remember this character (lvl 45) with mumble mouth and trash divination who was passing time trying to catch up with the revelation of those two effect.
By the time I got to one ruins and clean it couple more were being revealed trought mumble mouth/divinaiton.
Point is, when this guys became unplayable due to update, I had cleaned the 4 sultan dungeon and like 30 other ruins and I still had 4 quest to find stuff that I'm sure wasn't even there to begin with.
Of course, as they sometime spawn on the floor it is also possible that it got eaten by a passing Beetlebum
Or Seeing as they sometime drop from random monster you may just have missed it while exploring.
And if you're a high enough level, it's like squishing an ant. :P
That being said, not sure it's always the case tough. It's bound to have a time limit of some sort.
It's why when you see them eat things you should kill them if it's in an important enough area.
