long blade proficiency
Hello,

Trying the long blade skill tree for the first time here is what I find :

- Defensive stance doesn't add 2 DV
- Aggressive stance does substract 2 DV, but explanation on the skills screen talks about -2 to hit instead

I have my carbide long sword equiped, is this a bug or am I missing something ?

aggressive stance subracts the 2DV defensive stace adds
because youre no longer in defensive stance

it should, but I have :

- 15 DV naked
- 13 DV in aggressive stance
- 15 DV in defensive stance

And what abiut the -2 hit, does it stack with the -2 DV or is the explanation outdated ?

your 15 dv naked is counting the 2 from defensive stance,
same with 13 dv with aggressive because youre not in defensive anymore,
are you mentally challenged?

I think stance bonuses apply even if you don't have a long blade equipped. Which I didn't realize until reading your post.

Makes me want to dip into Long Blades just to pick up the +1 PV. Because you can never have too much PV. Recently found some Helping Hands and have been considering going that route anyway to get access to Swipe.

Nope.

Not the best way to talk, but OP this is the most logical explanation to your problem.

No the +2 DV doesn't apply without a long sword equiped. It was some sort of bug, everything is fine today I have my 17 DV.

You should just ignore statements like that and report them :)

I'll be respectful when they make sense.

Read the whole thing again and you will catch the sense...

I don't know if -2 to hit chance is a lot, but I don't see any difference using aggressive stance.
I bet the explanation is just false and only -2 DV apply.

I don't have this issue. When you first pick up long blade proficiency, defensive stance is the default stance. at this point equipping a long blade gives the +2 dv. switching to aggressive stance or unequipping a main hand long blade resets dv. the penetration bonus from aggressive stance is visible on your weapon's stats. interestingly it also seems to affect off-hand short blades as well.
that's how it's always worked for me, and to my knowledge how it's supposed to work. Something might be messed up/bugged with your character if you're convinced it's not working that way. Try making a new character as a Warden (as they start with proficiency) and see how it works for them?

As I said everything is fine now, what I'm talking about is the description of the "Long Blade Proficiency" skill in the "Buy Skills and Powers" screen.

It mentions "-2 to hit" in aggressive stance.

I wonder if it's just a typo instead of "-2DV" or if it's stack with the DV malus.
